I am so lucky to have grown up with someone who compliments my personality as much as my roommate has. ever since our first conversation in kindergarten, we have been inseparable and the definition of a package duo.
Lauren and I met in 2009 in kindergarten at Holy Ghost School. We became friends almost instantly and would talk and mess around all day. all the teachers knew to not sit us near each other in class because we couldn't help but laugh all class. A specific memory I have is in 2nd grade we were moved across the classroom, as always, and we couldn't stand not communicating anymore. we decided to start passing notes to each other, drawing funny pictures, and saying jokes only we would find funny. one day it was obvious that we were up to something when Lauren and I were disruptively giggling from across the room. e got caught but that didn't stop us from constantly talking. we remained best friends through 7th grade, but then we found out our grade school was closing and we may not be able to graduate together. everyone in our class went their separate ways for 8th grade, but Lauren and I were able to convince our parents to send us both to St. Philips. We became closer as we entered this scary new environment together, and then got to graduate middle school together!
High School was a bit tough because as much as we tried, going to the same high school wasn't going to work out. we stayed in touch and hung out sometimes, but the 20-minute drive and new lifestyles made it a little difficult. we hung out a little less because life got in the way, but then we got amazing news: at the end of sophomore year in his school, Lauren was moving right across the street from me! this reconnected our inseparable bond and brought us close together again. For college, we were both looking to stay close and after visiting a few colleges, we found North Central, and both really enjoyed it here. we became roommates and I have no idea how we aren't tired of each other anymore, but I would not trade the friendship we have for the world
