KMAN FOOD!

Okay, there has been so much slander on the Kman food, but I love it. of course, it doesn't hit all the checkmarks every time, but all that free food all day - I'll take it      Some of my favorite things that they have are their yogurt bowls.  I take a bowl and I put yogurt, granola, honey, and a banana in there, and it's wonderful. another thing that they have there that I love is their wrap station. the lady who makes them is so nice and it's almost like Subway! I also like their wings and mashed potatoes.      I've only had one bad experience with the food I have eaten there and that was the chicken parm. I don't think it would be appropriate to cuss out the chicken parm on my blog but it sucked. it gave me the worst food poisoning at cheer practice and I almost threw up on my bases. to be fair, it did look pretty pink but I thought I would be fine so half of it is my fault but still. Anyway, I still think Kman is an 8/1...

tattoos i have

I think that tattoos are one of the coolest things because they all have a story. I think it interesting how something can mean so much to someone that they get it on their body forever. I find it beautiful how they can tell so much about someone too. I have been planning on getting tattoos for years so when. finally turned 18, that's what I did for my birthday. From March of 2023 to now I have gotten 6 and thankfully regret none! This is the first tattoo I got on my 18th birthday. This means to me that no matter what happens that day, the sun and moon will still be there to rise and set again, giving you another chance at things. This Tattoo represents a loved one that I have lost watching over me  This tattoo is for my dog Chino! She is my best friend love her This tattoo symbolizes growth. the squiggly lines on the bottom represent the tough lessons you have to go through and learn to grow This tattoo says "see the good" in Italian. It is pretty self explana...

thoughts on my rational argument

My Rational Argument is on Climate Change.      For my Rational Argument, I chose to write about how climate change is real and getting worse daily. I provided scientific evidence , of the economic, social, and ethical dilemmas climate change has on our world.     I just recently began to truly care about climate change after this paper. I never really took the time to educate myself on how serious and negative the effects are. I feel as if I'm witnessing it right before my eyes because it is December 11th, and there is no show! normally it begins to snow end of October/early November, but because of how polluted the air is getting, there is less and less snow every winter. I feel like some negative effects are necessary because stopping them will hurt the economy greatly, but many unnecessary and easily avoidable things can be done to improve climate change. something that I saw while researching about climate change that can be used as motivation is...

dorm life

Dorm Life     Being an only child, dorm life is one of the biggest changes in college, but probably my favorite. I love living on my own but still being close enough to be able to go home whenever I need to. there's not a lot that I have been struggling with during this change, besides laundry. my mom would remind me every few days to do my laundry, but now without that reminder, I'm not going to lie, it piles up.       The way I fix this problem is to do laundry every Sunday, but so far this hasn't worked. I have learned that everyone likes to do laundry on Sundays and when you finally carry the heavy laundry down from the third floor down to the basement and all the washers are taken, it's hard to get yourself to do it again.      Honestly as annoying as the whole laundry situation is, things could be wayyyyyyyyyyyyy worse. i love my roommate, I love decorating a new space, I love not having my parents watch my every move. going back ...

How I started doing cheer

It's crazy to think that I haven't been doing cheer my whole life because of how much my life revolves around it. From 1st grade to 8th grade, I competed in gymnastics but got too burnt out to continue it in high school. I decided to try out for the high school cheer team my freshman year and made varsity as a freshman because of the tumbling I got from gymnastics.  I was really scared to transition over but I'm so happy I did! It was a bit difficult during my senior year of high school because of the amount of times I got injured. I told myself that after my senior year of high school, I would never step foot back. on a cheer mat for my own safety. I was already at the IHSA sports concussion limit and had multiple other injuries including ankle sprains, wrist sprains, etc. My love for competing kept me going and once our high school made it to state, everyone started asking me if I was going to continue cheering in college. my go-to answer was no, but I c...

my favorite food

Food brings me so much joy and always has new things to discover. Of all the food I have tried, these are my favorites: The vodka pasta from Mio Modo in St. Charles, the veggie combo sushi roll from Jewel Osco, and the margarita pizza from Elios in Addison.  I like the vodka pasta from Mio Modo because it has a sweeter taste while still having the savory flavor of the vodka sauce. the sauce is very creamy and thick because of all the cheese that is perfectly mixed in. They then top it off with parsley which not only adds to the look but a subtle flavor. My second favorite dish being sushi is very ironic because I am allergic to sushi. The veggie sushi that I am referring to obviously doesn't contain any raw fish. It has avocado, carrots, and cucumber. this is normally all that is in veggie sushi rolls, but at Jewel Osco, they put sweet soy, and sriracha sauce drizzled on top, and then crunchy onions on top. This makes me feel included when all my friends get the...

The story of My roomate and I

I   am so lucky to have grown up with someone who compliments my personality as much as my roommate has. ever since our first conversation in kindergarten, we have been inseparable and the definition of a package duo.  Lauren and I met in 2009 in kindergarten at Holy Ghost School. We became friends almost instantly and would talk and mess around all day. all the teachers knew to not sit us near each other in class because we couldn't help but laugh all class. A specific memory I have is in 2nd grade we were moved across the classroom, as always, and we couldn't stand not communicating anymore. we decided to start passing notes to each other, drawing funny pictures, and saying jokes only we would find funny. one day it was obvious that we were up to something when Lauren and I were disruptively giggling from across the room. e got caught but that didn't stop us from constantly talking. we remained best friends through 7th grade, but then we found out ...

friends with international students

3 of my best friends are somewhat temporary. trying not to count down the days until they are on their way home is tough and hard to ignore, but I am so grateful for every memory I have shared with them.    These are my friends Savu and Simoe from Nepal! I met them during freshman orientation and immediately got super close to them. the end of the first semester seemed so far away that the thought of not seeing them every day wasn't on my mind. they spent countless nights just hanging out in our dorm room, talking and teaching us about their culture. one of my favorite memories is when they tried their best to teach me how to Nepali dance. Ironically, I'm writing this right now because I just got the news that they are staying here for the whole year!  Being friends with them has broadened my perspective in many ways. they share things we do here that won't slide where they come from. it has made me more aware of my actions and making sure I am careful with what I s...
